Nature makes you pay attention this time of year.
The Call of Nature
On Saturday I was rushing all day from obligations to a friend and family and home. All things I am full of appreciation for but because I was rushing and busy I wasn’t present. At one point in the day I was rushing past a tree with the sunlight pouring through. It lit up the bright yellow and orange leaves like a fire. It forced me to notice. To really pay attention. To be present.
Nature gives me this gift again and again. The gift of noticing, being immersed fully in the present moment. It made my rushed day open up in a big beautiful pause. I am so very grateful for it. It was exactly what I needed because it brought me so much peace and changed my perspective. Thank you, nature, for pulling my attention with your autumn beauty. What a beautiful reminder to pause to notice and to appreciate.
Nature’s beauty is a gift that cultivates appreciation and gratitude.
