Change Your Mind About It
We see things a certain way and it can feel impossible or even destructive to see them differently. Take the risk because seeing things differently can often be the first step towards making our lives awesome.
Is there a situation in your life that you would like to transform? Try gratitude.
- Observe it without judgment. Write your observations. Notice details.
- Find appreciation for something about this situation. Write your gratitude.
- Resist the urge to write down your hopes and plans.
This process may lead to acceptance of the way things are (which is a transformation inside of you). It may lead you to action to take steps to make a change. It may even help you see the situation in such a different way that it transforms. It may help you to see the bigger picture. It may help you to find some understanding.
I just did this process for myself writing about a situation I would like to transform. It was interesting to filter out my thoughts and write down observations without judgments and explanations. Once I wrote some gratitude I immediately began thinking about everything I would do differently. I didn’t write all of that down but I noticed it.
Our mind can be a whirlwind sometimes when we focus on things we don’t like in our lives. Observe the situation. Find appreciation. Trust that the transformation will come. Repeat.

My Gratitude Experience Last Week
It was a wonderful experience sharing gratitude using the Thanksgiving placemats. We wrote them down and then read them aloud. I love experiencing the different voices of gratitude. It reminded me of the value of speaking gratitude in a group of people who love each other.
Forgotten Gratitude
Last week I was also grateful for strong hot coffee every morning … A leg touch … Mindless TV and knitting on repeat.
